Alternate Dispute Resolution (ADR) was utilized by the Florida Court System to adjudicate disputes for over 25 years, begining with the conception of the first citizen dispute closure (CDS) center in Dade County in 1975. Since then, the consumption of mediation and arbitration have developed as the Legislature and judiciary have produced one of the most comprehensive court-connected mediation programs in the country.
